Biography - Dr. Rosevelt Morris
Rosevelt is a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and has a passion for disciple-making—the ministry of teaching God's Word, coaching others and sharing faith. He has had the privilege of being on mission with God since 1979 when he gave God’s his heart. He is a native of Eutaw, Alabama.
Rosevelt holds several degrees including: a Bachelor of Science degree, Agribusiness Education, from Alabama A&M University, Huntsville, AL; a Masters of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky; and a Doctorate of Ministry from Mercer University, McAfee School of Divinity in Atlanta Georgia. He served 6.5 years at Sixth Avenue as the Associate Minister from 1992-1998. He served for 10 years at South Carolina Baptist Convention in Church Planting and Prayer & Spiritual Awakening. Prior to coming to Sixth Avenue, he served on staff at Lexington Baptist Church in South Carolina.
Rosevelt is humbled with the privilege of returning to Sixth Avenue and serving as the Associate Pastor of God’s people. He believes disciple-making to be an intentional and continual process of developing Great Commission Christians. He looks forward to the ongoing ministry through the congregation. He values preaching of God’s Word, investing and impacting in the lives of others through coaching, and sharing faith through each opportunity that comes his way.
Rosevelt is married to Evalya (Evie) McCall-Morris. They have three sons: RJ, Jonathan, and Benjamin; and one daughter, Alexis.
Rosevelt enjoys playing checkers, bowling, reading, golf, scramble, and spending time with family.
